Brunei Darussalam has a size of 5769 square kilometers is located on the northwest end of Borneo Island. Brunei Darussalam has a common border with the Malaysia state of Sarawak and with a coastline of 161KM along the South China Sea. Brunei Darussalam is relatively a small country with a correspondingly small population of about 348,200 people. Despite its size, however, Brunei Darussalam has made itself quite visible on the world map by being an increasingly active player in world and regional affairs and organizations such as APEC, ASEAN, WHO, BIMP-EAGA, G-77, ICAO and AFTA.


Direct flights from the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) to Asean capitals like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila and Bangkok take between one and a half to three hours. Daily flights are also available from BSB to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Sarawak.
